Juela Mogo is a small design and manufacturing jewellery studio situated on the South Coast of NSW. Originally established by Peter Miers when it was then known as J&P Miers Jewellery Studio. After a working holiday in New Zealand, John and Peter Miers returned home with unique design skills and a new found inspiration that would shape the course of their lives. The Miers began operating out of Cootamundra before relocating to Mogo in 1988. Sadly, both Miers brothers have since passed away, although their labour of love and design philosophy continues to live on.
The dedicated, professional team is testament to the long-standing ideals of the Miers brothers. In 2004, Bloss began her apprenticeship with Pete and since then, her sought after designs have caused hype among the media set Australia wide. Designer Pip Gordon has been an asset to the business since 1993 and in 2008 she decided to challenge herself with a jewellery manufacturing apprenticeship. Pip’s approach to jewellery design has quickly earned her recognition from a loyal clientele. The studio has recently added a new edition to the team, undertaking their first school-based apprentice – Caitlin Callender. Caity is looking forward to developing her manufacturing skill set and is showing enormous potential in the art of jewellery design.
2010 marked the beginning of a new era as Bloss purchased the business in partnership with Deb Gough. The dynamic duo are looking forward to the future to expand their client list and design portfolio together. Along with our talented team of jewellers, they take great pride in their work and an individually crafted piece from Juela Mogo is not just an investment it’s an experience. At this studio, it’s important that customers are involved with the design and creation of their jewellery.
While demand for Bloss’ individual work has soared, the team at Juela Mogo are dedicated to maintaining their boutique standards. You are invited to take a seat in the comfortable lounge area and have a consultation with one of our jewellers. Your involvement in the design process from inception to the refinement of the final product is important to the team.
